mmmmmmm PSN Rumors

Its been long rumored that Sony would charge for a premium online service that would be on par with Xbox Live for customers who were interested. Playing games will still be free, but Sony will have privileges and benefits lined up for the customers that pay.

The big change that was leaked is that PSN will offer subscribers one free game from a choice of two to four every month. My source's source notes that this will lead to subscribers more or less breaking even on their annual fees, although that all depends on what game will be given away.

There is also talk of a steaming music service, so that players can listen to their own music on their PS3 finally.

Both of these announcements leave me less than impressed. I own most of the "must have" PS3 titles and I don't need to get a free indie game every month. Even if they are big titles I would already have them anyway. They would have to announce something more. Like the "New Xbox Experience" that Microsoft announced last year. They really need to streamline the PSN because there is a reason that shit is free.
