Game Insane Asylum

So retailer Game Crazy is closing very soon. Their parent company has announced the closure of all of the Game Crazies nationwide. Only 250 of them exist from the past liquidations after their parent company Movie Gallery--which is also the parent company of Hollywood Video-- filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy back in February. I can see why they're going bankrupt, as nobody rents Movies/Games from Hollywood Video (or even Blockbuster for that matter), when you can rent as many movies as you want through Netflix (and stream most of them from your PS3/XBOX360 as well), for much lower than the rental charge, and there are no late fees, only a monthly subscription.

Personally, I used to love going to Gamecrazy. They always had the few rare games that Gamestop wouldn't have, and their clerks were always pretty friendly.

Oh well, just another sign of the times, although I'm sure that something else will take their place. Personally it surprises me that Gamestop has so much of a foothold.
