Nintendo announced the Wii Games Summer 2010, a nationwide event that will take place in major cities across the country on July 16. Teams will play games like Wii Sports Resort Bowling, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Wii Fit Plus, Mario Kart Wii, and Wii Sports Resort Basketball. Sounds pretty lame, right? Well the grand prizes are pretty good.

If you like the Wii, this sounds awesome. Huge events like this always seem really cool to me, even if I'm not participating. The intro video with Olympic Gold Medalist Shawn Johnson and some person in a Mario costume is pretty funny actually. Shawn Johnson being hot helps too.
