007 Pink Eye
Recently there were some leaked details about the potential remake of 007: Goldeneye, a game which holds a fond place in many people's hearts as being one of the best console FPS's of the N64/PS1 age of games.
Gamrfeed has the story about the leak. Apparently some of their sources received anonymous tips from Activision (the company handling the remake)about a survey for the cover, as well as other leaks about the character in the game.
The thing that pisses me off the most? They're featuring Daniel Craig as the main character, instead of Pierce Brosnan, who was actually in the original movie.
Um, ok, let's make a remake that has the same story, but give it a character that has no absolute ties to it. I'm not the biggest fan of the Daniel Craig movies (they're good, nice and action packed), probably because I grew up watching Sean Connery, Roger Moore, and Pierce Brosnan play out the role of the suave Super-Spy who constantly encounters and seduces femme fatales, and thwarts plans for world domination during the cold-war era.
So yeah, Daniel Craig in Goldeneye is not going to make me want to buy it.
You know what else makes me not want to buy it? The fact that it's coming out on Wii. Now, I've defended the Wii in the past, but for FPS's the console is so-so, bordering on dreadful. You'd think with all of the motion controllers coming out, they'd feature it on a system that's more advanced than an N64 with a motion controller.
Now I'd love to see this in full HD graphics on the PS3 or Xbox360. But judging by the leaks, this shit won't happen.
