If you haven't seen the trailer yet for Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, you need to seriously take a look. The opening is darker than what people would normally consider Spider-Man to be, then the Spider-Man Noir version of the wallcrawler shows up. I'm excited for this game, since I love Spider-Man and every other version of him. I'm curious as to which Spider-Men the other two are, however. Are we going to see the Iron Spider variant from Civil War? The Symbiote costume? Scarlet Spider? Spider-Man 2099? Ultimate Spider-Man? Well, maybe the last three, since the versions are different and not the costumes. I'd like to see an Amazing Bag-Man costume though.
If the trailer is any indication, Amazing Spider-Man levels will play as you expect. Lots of traditional Spidey fun with web-punches and kicks from nowhere. The Noir levels look kinda like Batman: Arkham Asylum, focusing upon stealth and efficient takedowns. This game is supposed to hit in September 2010.
Now I'll be singing the Spider-Man theme song all day long.
